Mention the spot gold price or the word gold, or gold mines can conjure up images of riches, wealth and power. There is no other precious metal, as of modern times, that can match the impact of gold in the world. From ancient civilizations and even to the 1949 gold rush in California, the search for gold in mines and even the most unlikely places still brings out a sense of adventure and luck to those willing to spend the time in search of this valued metallic element.

Well, those days of looking and searching for gold still continues to this day. Though these activities may not receive mainstream media attention some people still travel across the country and world in search of the ancient metal of kings.  With hopes of striking it rich by discovering a gold nugget by panning in rivers to entering abandoned gold mines, dreams of wealth still saturate the minds of these adventurous individuals.

The value of a single gold nugget is said to be from a hundreds to thousands of dollars. It is no wonder that people still flock to find one in gold mines all across the world. Some have started to do this as a hobby or a weekend activity.

And with modern technology to assist aspiring gold diggers.  There are now dedicated websites that provides guides and maps where gold is most likely to be found. So anyone can just download the information off the Internet, pack their equipment and join the rest of the gang for the search for gold.

It is such a different situation during the old days when you had to do everything manually and may end up at the wrong place. These guides have made the search for gold easy and accessible to anyone with a computer and a decent Internet connection.

And once the gold map is printed out, similar to a treasure hunt, you can simply start looking for gold. But of course, when looking for gold, you will still need to learn the basics of panning and other extraction techniques so that you can easily identify which is gold and other materials.

Panning for gold needs the use of a sifter tool to separate the elements from the rock. Using a metal detector is also another way to locate gold in a certain area, though this equipment can also detect other metals, it can rather point you in the right direction when skimming a gold mine.

Gold panning is also a great way to travel all across the country. Not only can you search for gold at different places, but also, this experience lets you relive the past adventures of our forefathers during the gold rush, and you may even earn a profit afterwards. Although, there is probably not much gold left in some mines, there is still a slim chance that you might discover an area where gold is abundant. This discovery can really make you rich in an instant, and if nothing else, can qualify you as a true gold miner
